Abstract
622,484. Discharge apparatus. SOC. D'APPLICATIONS TELEPHONIQUES. Aug. 13, 1946, No. 24067. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1944. [Class 39 (i)] An electronic tele scope comprises E photo-electric cathode 2 on the wall of an electronic tube 1, a concave mirror 3 focussing ar image on to the inwardly-directed surface of the cathode, secondary electron-emitting electrodes 5, focussing electrodes 4, 6, 7, a fluorescent screen 8 and a second concave mirror 11, focussing the image on screen 8 into an eye-piece (not shown). The fluorescent screen 8 may be transparent or opaque. A screen 9 may be mounted on mirror 3 to exclude visible radiation and pass infra-red radiation. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also comprises concave mirrors which are integral parts of the tube, flared parts being plated to form specular surfaces, and the whole is enclosed in a tube provided with an eye-piece. The photo-cathode and fluorescent screen are arranged at the focal points of the mirrors. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
