[Class 39 (i)] A cathode-ray bulb has the end part b formed as a cylindrical lens ; preferably it is separately moulded with a flange c which is subsequently fused to the body part a. If the outer surface is flat the viewing area may be formed with a raised portion e, Fig. 6, to facilitate grinding and to serve as a register for locating the bulb end accurately in its mounting.
