622,237. Unit heaters. E.A. LABORATORIES, Inc. Aug. 23, 1946, No. 25253. Con. vention date, Dec. 14, 1945. [Class 137] [Also in Groups XXVI and XXXV] In a unit comprising a motordriven electric fan and electric heater 23 supported within a casing having front and rear openings for air, the motor 20 is mounted in a bracket, midway between these openings, which bracket comprises two similar parts which when secured together provide a frame 27 for the motor and upper and lower post sections 26 which terminate in brackets 24, 25 secured to the top and bottom of the casing. In the form shown, the casing comprises identical front and back portions 11, 12 having grilles 14, 15 secured over the air openings by friction nuts 16. The motor is floatingly suspended in the circular frame 27 (see Group XXXV) and the brackets 24, 25 co-operate with brackets 50 to secure the parts 11 and 12 together. A reflecting base plate 46 is carried by the bolts securing the brackets 25. The posts 26 and arcuate brackets 37 riveted to them, carry notched insulation blocks 44 which support a spiral heating coil 23. The connections to this coil and the motor 20 are so arranged that in one position of the switch 61 the fan and heater are both operated, and in the other the fan only is operated, and at a faster rate. In no case can the heater work without the fan.
