Abstract

622,231. Making metal fabrics. PULLMAN (PATENT) PRODUCTS, Ltd., DAVIS, J. M., and GRIFFITH, G. July 22, 1946, No. 21806. [Class 83 (iv)] In a machine for making spring interiors for cushions &c. a plurality of springs 9 are secured to tie-wires 7 in a single operation. A line of clinching tools is mounted on a bar 5 pivoted on a rod to a table 4 and each pair of tools is actuated by a fluid cylinder 10, controlled by a master valve, and connected by a lever 17 to the movable tool 22a. A row of springs is positioned in the clinching tools with a wire 7 and a row of springs is secured simultaneously on actuation of the cylinders 10.
