621,528. Delivery receptacles for doors &c. BEASTALL, P. C. Jan. 6, 1947, No. 394. [Class 18] An article delivery receptacle for house doors, hatches, posts and the like comprises a metal, wooden or plastic box B with a pivoted front panel P that is normally open to receive goods and is closed by the weight of the goods on a spring urged platform C hinged at D to the panel flanges Pl. The platform C is urged upwardly by a spring S bearing on a front panel bar T and is connected to an arm J1 of a bell crank lever whose other arm J2 operates between stops X1, X2, on the inside of the box. When the panel P swings clockwise, the platform C trips a gravity catch E and the panel is held closed until the goods are removed through the rear of the box, which may be closed by the house door or hatch or by a locked panel. A spring wire Kl may extend across the box to restrict movement of the goods.
