Abstract
163,124. Dunhill, A. Feb. 12, 1920. Contents, delivering and facilitating access to. -The sliding inner part b, Fig. 2, of a cigarette or like case carries a pin k engaging a rightangled slot in a lever f pivoted to the lower corner of the outer case at g. A second curved lever e is pivotally connected at its upper and lower ends. respectively to the hinged lid and the lever f. When the case is closed, the pin k rests in the arm h<2> of the slot, and on opening the lid no motion of the inner container takes place until the pin has traversed this arm and arrived at the position shown; on further movement of the lid the pin rides along the arm h' of the slot and the inner container rises, facilitating access to the contents. The bottom of the inner container may be stepped or inclined as at b<1>, Fig. 5, so that the upper edges of the contained articles come at progressively higher levels. Two independent inner containers, each equiped with a pair of levers operating as above, may be provided. One Provisional Specification describes a method of operating the sliding inner part by means of a single link pivotally connected to it and to thelid.
