Abstract
620,885. Agricultural implements. WELLS, R., and BAWN & CO., Ltd., W. B. Jan. 29,. 1947, No. 2729. [Class 6(i)] Relates to tractor-drawn disc harrows of the type in which the angular setting of the disc axles is adjustable relatively to the line of draught. According to the invention the powerlift arms of the tractor are used to adjust the angular setting. The harrow comprises a horizontal beam 14 having bifurcated ends 15 '16, to which the inner ends of disc axles 17, 18 are attached, the outer ends being secured to a triangular frame 21 slidable along the beam 14. A lever 19 is fulcrummed at 35 or the beam and is fastenec by a pin 22 to the frame 21, the upper end of the lever being coupled by a link 20 to the power-lif arms 12 of the tractor which are arranged to swing about a substantially vertical mean position to slide the frame 21 along the beam. A further pair of disc axles 26, 27 is mounted on a frame 30 coupled to the frame 21 by a link 31 and having a relatively slidable part 33 which is connected to the lever 19 by a link 32 and pin 34. Since the pin 34 is further from the fulcrum 35 than the pin 32, the rear axles move more, during adjustment, than the forward axles.
