Abstract
620,863. Aircraft framework. MENDELSSOHN, H. E. Jan. 27, 1947, No. 2507. [Class 4] An aircraft fuselage has at least one upper longitudinal beam and at least one lower longitudinal beam interconnected by transverse ribs, each beam being formed compositely from spaced beam portions held in spaced relation by strip lattice-work. The spaced beam portions 6, 7 of the lower longitudinal beams 3, 4 are composed of laminated strips secured together and are secured in spaced relation by lattice strip members 8, 9. Associated with the lower beam portions 7 are longitudinal members 11 of rubber formed with integral bosses 12 to which are attached oleo-struts 12a, the whole forming a continuous impactabsorbing gear. Floor sections 25 pivoted on transverse axes and shutter members 27, 28 allow easy egress to be obtained. Skylight panels 24 also provide readily available emergency exits.
