620,730. Induction heating apparatus. BUDD CO. Nov. 13, 1946, No. 33687. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1945. [Class 39(iii)] An indication heating head for workpieces having irregular surfaces has hollow, liquid cooled coils 3 and 4 wound on a hollow iron core 2, constructed of wedgeshaped plates 5. High-frequency current is supplied to each coil, in the same direction, from a reciprocating and rotating arbor 7 having mutually insulated conductors 8 and 9. Two or more cores, radially spaced may be used, and the number of coils on each core may be increased.
