620,292. Tubular heat-exchangers. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO., Ltd., WILLETT, S. E., and EDGE, S. H. Jan. 15, 1947, No. 1420. [Class 64(iii)] In an air heater, e.g for vehicles, cabins, aircraft &c., tubes a extending between axially aligned headers b, c and each wound with radially projecting loops d are mounted within a casing e through which air is drawn or blown substantially parallel to the tubes. The tubes may be straight, as shown, or helical. The casing e has outwardly flared ends and a central cylindrical part f which has supplementary plates filling the spaces between the tubes and casing. Alternatively the casing may be cylindrical throughout. Specifications 271,122, [Class 64(iii)], 561,785, 620,290 and 620,291 are referred to.
