620,290. Tubular heat-exchangers. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO., Ltd.. WILLETT, S. E., and EDGE, S. H. Jan. 15, 1947, No. 1418. [Class 64(iii)] An air heating element, e.g. for vehicle, aircraft, buildings &c., consists of helical tubes a each wound with radially projecting wire loops g and connected to headers b, c supplied with hot water, e.g. from an engine cooling system the tuhes being arranged to allow air to pass through and/ or across the tube assembly in any one of a number of different directions. The connections of the ends of each tube to the headers are 90 degrees apart. The air to be heated may enter or leave the tube assembly at a point or points within the assembly, either or both of the headers being annular. Specifications 271,122, [Class 64(iii)]. 561,785 and 620,292 are referred to.
