Abstract
620,220. A.C. motors. SCHILD & CO. SOC. ANON. Jan. 9, 1947, No. 790. Convention date, Oct. 21, 1946. [Class 35] A synchronous electric clock motor is started by the action on the gear-train of a pawl actuated by the stator magnetic circuit when this is energized. As shown, the stator core 5 is interrupted by an air gap 4 which is bridged during running by an armature 1 mounted on a lever 2 pivoted at 3. A second lever 11 which carries the pawl is also pivoted at 3 and is linked to the lever 2 by a spring 12 whose elongation is limited by a stop 13. On energization of the coil 6, the motion of the armature is transmitted through the spring 12 and pawl 14 to the wheel 10, thus starting the motor.
