Abstract

1,061,006. Time switches; synchronous electric motors. AMERICAN MACHINE & FOUNDRY CO. Oct. 2, 1964 [Oct.31, 1963], No. 40223/64. Headings H2A and H2B. An internal timer comprises parallel magnetic walls 20, 21 serving to mount the components of the timer and also forming part of the magnetic circuit of the motor, the motor having a field coil 27 on one axis and a stator and rotor assembly 26 to which coil 27 is magnetically coupled by the walls 20, 21, the assembly 26 being on a second parallel axis, the other timer components including a reduction gear train 28 and a timing cam 29 which actuates a leaf spring switch 30 (Figs. 10, 11, not shown). Interdigitated polepieces 32 33, are mounted between walls 20, 21, around a rotor 34 (Figs. 5, 6, not shown) mounted on a shaft 52 carrying the motor pinion 51, pinion 51 driving the cam 29 through the reduction gear train 28, which includes an anti-reverse mechanism (Fig. 8, not shown), and a one-way clutch mechanism (Figs. 3, 9, not shown) which latter allows for manual setting of timing cam 29 by knob 119.
