Abstract

619,764. Hair-curling appliances. DEHN, F. B. (Gaylord Products, Inc.). Nov. 12, 1945, No. 30211. [Class 131] A hair curler comprises two pivotally connected arms, which on one side of the pivot provide two hair-gripping members 11, 13 and on the other side two handle portions 17, 18 to which a locking bail 22 is pivotally connected, the ends 23 of the locking bail passing through apertures 21 in the handle portions and being bent into contact with the inner surfaces thereof, and parts 24 of the locking bail being releaseably engaged in recesses 26, 25 in the handle portions in hair winding and hair locking positions respectively. The arms are pivoted together by tongues 14 pressed inwardly from the sides of the member 13 and journalled in aligned apertures 15 in the member 11. The hair-gripping members are urged towards each other by a bowed spring 19 the ends of which engage shoulders 20 on the recesses 26.
