Abstract

<PICT:0619539/IV (c)/1> Apparatus for steaming cloth which has been printed or impregnated with a dye consists of a treating chamber 2 with a header 12 having a plurality of inlet ports 14 arranged immediately above a water bath 13 through which steam is bubbled. The steam is led into the header 12 and thence to a fan 10, the outlet of which is connected to a series of nozzles 7 which direct the steam on to the surface of the cloth. In a modified form, the cloth is conveyed past the nozzles on a brattice or other conveyer.
