Abstract
617,941. Stamping. VICKERS - ARMSTRONGS, Ltd., and HOUGHTON, E. C. Sept. 30, 1946, No. 29153. [Class 83 (iv)] In a cushioning and ejector device for a metal working press with narrow bed pressure pins projecting through the head part of the bed formed with side plates forming a girder in which at least a part of the cushioning device is housed. The pressure pins project through holes 4 in a bed 2 with side frames 3 of which one may be detachable and are operated by a beam 5 actuated by toggles 7 from an air cylinder 14. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the cylinder is mounted on the end of the bed to obviate excavation. The pins may be operated through wedge, lever, &c. mechanism. The cushioning mechanism may be housed in a container assembled independently of the bed.
