Abstract

516,074. Metal-working presses. NATIONAL MACHINERY CO. June 20, 1938, No. 18242. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1937. [Class 83 (iv)] In addition to a main wedge 13 supporting the die of a press with sliding head 9 a smaller auxiliary wedge 20 is arranged between the wedge 13 and the frame to prevent the movement of the wedge 13 down' the inclined plane 11. The smaller wedge is maintained in position by an adjusting bolt 27. When a jam occurs in the machine the bolt may be operated to loosen the smaller wedge.
