Abstract

617,443. Seats VICKERS-ARMSTRONGS, Ltd., and BURNARD, L. G. Oct. 1, 1946, No. 29218. [Class 52 (ii)] A chair comprises a seat and back supported on cam surfaces so that a translationary movement will vary their angular relationship with respect to the frame and has a motor connected to the seat and back to effect the necessary adjustment. The chair has a pivotally connected seat frame 18 and back frame 19 mounted on a chassis comprising two light metal alloy pressings 14, 15. The seat frame 18 has rollers 22 which engage in cam slots 23 on the side arms of the chassis. The back frame is provided with rollers 24, which engage in cam slots 25. An electric motor 26 provided with a jack 27 attached to the rear of the seat frame 18 actuates the seat and back.
