Abstract
617,008. Inductances. BRYCE & CO., Ltd., W. A., BRYCE, W. A., and ATKINS, J. A. Oct. 1, 1946, No. 29214. [Class 38 (ii)] The air-gaps 11 in the shell-type core of a reactance constructed of laminations as in Fig. 4 are adjustable. The core sections are bolted through holes 10 to parts of a non- magnetic framework comprising members 12, Fig. 5, embracing the corners of the U-shaped stack of laminations, which are crossed by everted angle members 13 ... 16. A pair of yoke-pieces 21 tie together the member 13, 14 and another pair the members 15, 16. Two parallel rods 24 are axially located in the yokepieces 21 and screw into the yoke-pieces 22 so that a tommy-bar inserted in holes 29 may adjust the air-gaps 11 within the limits set by the elongated bolt holes 20 in the members 12.
