Abstract

616,058. Turning. ROTHERHAM & SONS, Ltd., and OLIVER, C. S. Sept. 12, 1946, No. 27361. [Class 83 (iii)] A slide-rest for a bench-lathe comprises a lower slide connected by traverse mechanism to a guide which is angularly adjustable about a vertical axis spaced from the turning axis of the lathe, and an upper slide 16, constituting a tool-holder, connected by mechanism to a guide which is angularly adjustable about a vertical pivot 32 on the lower slide. The lower guide is pivoted at 20 to a bracket 11 attached to the lathe, and is limited in movement by abutments 37 on the bracket. Scales are provided for setting both guides. The traverse mechanism for the lower slide may be as described in Specification 616,061, and the feed-mechanism as in Specification 616,062. The slides and guides may be constructed in accordance with Specification 616,059.
