Abstract

614,283. Securing collars on shafts. OULIANOFF, G. July 10, 1946, No. 20631. [Class 80 (ii)] A collar for a shaft comprises semicircular elements 11, 12, the elements 11 having arcuate grooves 13 engaged by arcuate tongues 14 on the members 12. The collar is secured to the shaft 10 by assembling the elements 11 in registry with the members 12 in the groove 10a, and relatively rotating members 11, 12 through 90 degrees. A spring ball detent in a member 12 engages a recess 16 in a member 11. In a modification, members 11, 12 are not disposed in a groove and relative axial movement is prevented by an I-shaped tongue and groove connection.
