Abstract

613,299. Pedestal tables, &c. McCORD, S. F. June 18, 1946. No. 18210. [Class 52 (iii)] Detachable splayed legs 3 of a pedestal table or stand are provided with upstanding lugs 8 adapted to be engaged within the hollow lower end of the central column or upright 1 and secured thereto by a single clamping nut 14 on a screw 12 fixed to the upright. The nut bears on a disc 10 lying in rebates 5 of the legs and having a raised rim portion 16 that causes the legs to tilt and forces the surface 4 of the legs firmly against the outer face of the column. Spaced ribs 17 on the top face of the disc receive the inner ends of the legs between them.
