613,197. Slicing-machines. BERKEL & PARNALL'S SLICING MACHINE MANUFACTURING CO.. Ltd. June 14, 1946, No. 18027. Convention date, Nov. 29, 1943. [Class 28(ii)] The reciprocating carriage 2 of a disc knife slicing machine is guided by a shielded, fixed round bar 3 and by a roller 5 which is journalled on the frame 6 of the machine at a point in line with the cutting arc of the knife. A bar 9 on the underside of the carriage constitutes a track for the roller. A plate 10 mounted on the frame of the machine engages a groove in the bar 9 to prevent the carriage from tilting. Any short guide may be used instead of the roller.
