Abstract

612,096. Cutting slices in succession. BERKEL & PARNALL'S SLICING MACHINE MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. Oct. 9, 1946. No. 30120. Convention date, March 7, 1942. [Class 28(ii)] In a slicing mach ine of the type having a substance sup porting carriage 5 which is reciprocable past a slicing knife 1 journalled in a stationary bracket 3 under the guidance o! two sets of guides the guides are arranged respectively above and below the carriage. As shown, the carriage 5 is supported below by a reciprocable structure having upper and lower links 15, 16 carrying the guides. The limb 16 is formed as a trolley having rollers 17 which ride on a rail 18 secured to the underside of the machine, whilst the upper limb 15 has a guide part 14 which is slidable in a guideway provided in an arm 8, formed integrally with the knife bracket 3. One wall of the carriage 5 which is detachably secured to a platform on the limb 16 by screws 20 fits on a hook-like recess 21 on the upper limb.
