[Also in Groups XXIII and XXIV] A work-table for a band knife 7 comprises a rotary portion 1 which can be moved on a circular rail 3 around a non-rotary portion 9 under control of handles 11 to position workpiece 14. The non-rotary table portion 9 is prevented from rotating by guide-rails 20 which allow it to move bodily with the portion 1 and rail 3 along linear rails 5 for feeding the workpiece to the knife 7. A slot 6 allows the passage of the knife through the table portion 9 and aligns with a slot 18 in the table portion 1 in one position of the latter to allow the fitting of a new knife.
