Abstract
613,059. Transformers. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. March 11, 1946; No. 7542. Convention date, March 10, 1945. [Class 38 (ii)] The single-phase auto-transformer forming the subject-matter of Specification 613,045 is modified by arranging that the high and low voltage parts of the winding are at least twice linked by the leakage flux and possess such a width in the direction transverse to that of the leakage flux that the reactance voltage which is produced is sufficiently large for adequate mechanical resistance of the windings against short-circuit stresses. Fig. 1 shows a concentric arrangement of cylindrical windings wherein the low voltage part of the winding is subdivided into two parts d1, d2 respectively located outside and inside the high voltage, cylindrical portion c, the tertiary winding e being located nearest to the core a. A lead-in connection U is provided for the winding c, and a lead u1 from the sections d1, d2. Leads x1, x2 are taken from the tertiary winding e.
