612,548. Dry shavers. NAAMLOOZE. VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIP'S GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. May 27, 1946, No. 16007. Convention date, March 14, 1942. [Class 131] In a dry shaver comprising a stationary,. apertured cutting plate and a movable cutting member, the part of the cutting plate adapted to co-operate with the cutting member having a substantially flat surface, the cutting plate is provided on its face-contacting surface with one or more skin-bulging ribs. As shown in Fig. 1, the cutting member 3 rotates beneath the apertured cutting plate 2 the ribs 4 increasing in thickness from the centre and merging at 5 into the cylindrical outer wall 6. The cutting plate may be rectangular and the apertures slit-shaped the ribs being provided between the slits and being identical with the other intervening parts of the cutting plate except in thickness. In a further modification the cutting plate may have a central depressed portion surrounded by an annular track for the cutting member.
