Abstract
611,995. Lubricating pistons and cylinders. FOSBY, G. June 11, 1946, No. 17420. Convention date, Sept. 8, 1944. [Class 122 (i)] In apparatus for lubricating pistons by oil supplied thereto through a channel 4 communicating with the cylinder wall through two or more ports the openings of which are spaced axially at a distance at least as great as the width of a piston ring 3, a recess or chamber 11 is disposed between the channel and the ports to avoid discharge of oil on the return flow of the gas trapped in the channel on the pressure stroke of the piston. The oil may be fed directly to a point between the ports and the chamber comprise a recess between them.
