Abstract

611,901. Spray nozzles. BARBER, WILSONS, & CO., Ltd., and WILSON, C. O. May 13, 1946, No. 14429..[Class 69 (iii)] A spray nozzle comprises a body 1 having a rectilinear passage 7 in which is provided a control valve 23 closely adjacent a push-fit helically-grooved plug 13 which forces liquid into whirling streams which emerge to impinge on an annular abutment 10 spaced from the plug at the nozzle discharge 4. A spigot 2 on the body receives the nozzle cap 3 which embraces the plug, a sealing washer 19 being provided between the body and the cap. The valve 23 is of the plunger type actuated by a knob 28. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown), the plunger valve is replaced by a rotary plug valve.
