Abstract
611,771. Floors; reinforced beams. VISETTI. A. DE M., and CUEVAS, A. R. May 7, 1946, No. 13830. [Class 20(iv)] An improved block for the construction of reinforced beams for concrete floors and like structures, has central and side recesses across 'its base to receive reinforced concrete which provides support for the structure and prevents twisting or breaking of the beams during transport. In the form shown, the block has a central recess 1 and side recesses 3, the recess 1 being covered by a temporary protective wall 2 to prevent the breakage of the block during transport. The form shown in Fig. 2 is provided with additional sound insulating cells 9 which may also be used for electric wiring. The beams are constructed by aligning the blocks on level ground in an inverted position and filling in the recesses with the concrete mixture and reinforcing bars 5, 6, 7. They are then mounted in their final position side by side and the interspaces 4 filled in with concrete and, if desired reinforcing bars 8.
