611,347. Transformers; inductances. STACKPOLE CARBON CO. April 29, 1946, No. 12821. Convention date, May 5, 1945. [Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A former or support for wire coils such as high-frequency transformers or inductances comprises a moulded plastic body 6 with wire leads embedded in the opposite ends thereof, each lead comprising a reversely bent portion inside the end of the body and both ends projecting outwardly, either or both being bent laterally so as to project radially within a slot or between a pair of spaced projections moulded on the ends of the body 6. As shown, the ends 9 of the leads project radially through slots 7 to provide end connections for a coil mounted on the body 6, the ends 8 projecting axially to form terminal connections. A coil may be mounted on an iron sleeve which is slipped over the moulded former. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also arrangements wherein the projecting ends of the wires extend parallel with the axis of a cylindrical former. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
