[Class 59] The trash turner 22 of a sugar cane or like crushing mill is adjustable about its pivot 25 by a link 33 which is actuated by a lever pivoted to the frame of the mill and positioned by opposed draw bolts, or, as shown, by the rotation of an eccentrically mounted pin 34 which engages an eye in the link. The link 33 is pivoted on a pin 32 on a lug 31 on the support 24, and the pin 34 is mounted at one end of a shaft which is journalled in the mill headstock and carries at its opposite end a ratchet wheel by which the shaft is rotated. The rotation is effected by a pawl on a swing- ing lever which is positioned between opposed drawbolts, a pawl on a fixed axis preventing back movement of the ratchet wheel. The pivot 25 is adjusted by screws 27, 28; packing plates being used to set the baseplate 26 in its vertically adjusted position. The link 33 can be moved sideways to disengage it from the pin 32 to permit the removal of the trash turner 22 and its support 24 without disturbance of the adjustment gear, a stop member, detachably screwed to the headstock. preventing such displacement of the link during the normal running of the mill.
