Abstract

659,535. Machines for rolling pastry, chocolate, &c. ENTWISTLE & WALKER, Ltd., and ENTWISTLE, J. June 16, 1949, No. 16066. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] A machine for rolling dough, chocolate, leather, &c. comprises a pair of rollers 4, 8, Figs. 1, 2, end frames 1, 2, a detachable handle 13 for rotating the roller 8 directly and the roller 4 through gears, and eccentric means operated from a handle 21 for raising or lowering the roller 8 so as to vary the pass between the rollers. The roller 4 is rotated through gears 9, 10, 11, 12, and is supported in the free ends of pivoted arms 6, slots being provided in the end frames to allow movement of the upper roller trunnions. One of the cross stays, 3, also constitutes a torque shaft, and has secured to each of its ends an eccentric 18, each of these eccentrics being encircled by a strap 19. These straps are pivotally attached to lugs 6a on the pivoted arms 6. The eccentrics 18 may be rotated, and the straps 19 moved to raise or lower the upper roller, by turning the handle 21, which handle rotates a screwed shaft 20 and thus moves a slotted U-shaped member 24 by means of a pin 23 connected to a nut 22 on the screwed shaft. A pointer 27 carried by the torque shaft 3 may be used to indicate on a scale 28 the pass between the rollers, and folding trays 26 may be provided.
