Abstract

610,519. Operating clutches. HUMBER, Ltd., and SAMPIETRO, A. C. June 19, 1945, No. 15527. [Class 80 (ii)] The energizing winding 12 of an electricallyactuated clutch, which may be of the kind described in Specification 594,906, is connected to an electric generator 13 driven directly or indirectly by a prime mover, so that above a predetermined speed of the latter the clutch is automatically engaged. Overriding manual clutch operation is provided by a switch 17, movable to a neutral contact 18 to disengage the clutch and to a contact 19 to energize the winding 12 from a battery 15. Specification 326,921, [Class 80 (ii)], also is referred to.
