Abstract

610,301. Cow-milkers. AKTIEBOLAGET MANUS. April 9, 1946, No. 10921. Convention date, April 26, 1945. [Class 84] A teat cup is provided with a lid or cover resiliently attached to the cup's upper end to close the end automatically when the cup loses its hold on the teat. As shown in Fig. 1, the lid 5 is made integral with the rubber head 3 of the inner lining 2 and connected therewith along a small portion only of its circumference. A raised edge 7 prevents the lid from being drawn into the cup. In a modification shown in Fig. 3, the lid 8 of sheet metal &c. is a separate member provided with a bent arm 9 pivotally attached to a metal wire 10 extending in a groove round the head 3. A coiled spring (not shown) in a sleeve 11 maintains the lid in the closing position.
