Abstract

588,891. Jewellery. KUCZAJDA, F. J. March 9, 1945, No 5919. [Class 43] A stone mounting for a ring or other article of jewellery, of the kind in which a central stone is mounted within an outer annular stone, is characterised in that the marginal portion of the central stone 19 extends beneath an inwardly projecting lip 15 on the outer stone 12 and is retained in position by a tubular member 20. An annular shim 17, Fig. 5, is disposed between the lip 15 and the stone 19 and a resilent bushing 23 between the stone 19 and the member 20. In a modification, the tubular member is provided with outwardly projecting ears adapted to engage in a recess in the outer stone. In another modification, the tubular member is riveted to the outer stone.
