Abstract
609,998. Watch straps. NAPPER, A. F. March 27, 1946, No. 9537. [Class 43] In a watch strap of the type in which one end of the strap passes round a bar on the watch and contains a metal fitting, one end of this fitting is shaped to form a bifurcated peg and the other is perforated to engage over the peg, the ends of which are then folded down. The inner layer 1 of the strap is cut short at 4, the outer layer 2 being provided with adhesive at its end 5. The tapered end 7 of the sheet metal fitting 6 is inserted between the layers 1, 2, and a bifurcated peg 8 formed at this end by bending up two oppositely divided strips 8a projects through the layer 1; the fitting has a rectangular opening 9 providing side strips 10 which are bent round the bar 11 of the watch, and has at its free end a slot 12 which engages over the peg 8, whose ends are then bent over to secure the fitting before it is covered by the adhesive end 5 of the strap.
