Abstract
609,694. Fence posts. SALOPIAN ENGINEERS, Ltd., and BURN, R. M. G. March 21, 1946, No. 8715. [Class 45] [Also in Group XXVIII] A stanchion for a cow stall or like railing has integral sockets formed as clamps for horizontal rails. As shown, the stanchion A has three split socket clamps a, a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>2</SP> at its upper end joined by webs c each common to two clamps and through each of which a clamping bolt is passed. Similarly, at the lower end three socket clamps, a<SP>3</SP>, a<SP>4</SP>, a<SP>5</SP> are joined by webs c<SP>1</SP>, the socket a<SP>5</SP> receiving the upper end of a ground anchor. The sockets a<SP>6</SP> for the centre rails are not provided with clamps. An end stanchion of similar construction having two sockets at the top and bottom and one middle socket is also described.
