Abstract

609,643. Pulleys. WYSSEN, J. March 19, 1946, No. 8537. [Class 78 (v)] A rope guiding device for haulage purposes has a rope guiding sheave rotatably supported on a laterally hinged part of a housing and a locking lever mechanism which when acted upon by a stop on the rope travelling in the direction of haulage automatically causes the rope to slide off from its guide sheave so that the load which follows thereon can be conveyed unhindered past the sheave and without stoppage of the rope. A rope guiding sheave 1 is rotatably mounted on a pin 3 between the two side plates of the housing consisting of a twopart side plate 4, 6, the parts connected by a hinge and a one-part side plate 8. A forked release lever 14 has a pivot 141 in the head 131 of a pin 13 which also carries a locking lever 15 which engages a notch 11<1> in a screw nut 11 on the pin 3. A spiral spring 16 is wound round the pin 13, one end being secured on the side plate 8, the other in the head 13<1> and retains the locking lever in the locked position until an abutment K of the rope S strikes against the lever 14 and rocks the lever 15 out of engagement with the notch 11<1>. The pin 3 is thus released and the part 4 with the sheave rotates about the hinge and the rope slides off the sheave.
