Abstract

609,244. Chairs. DAVIS, A. M., and DAVIS, R. Y. C., [Representatives of DAVIS, H. G.]. March 8, 1946, No. 7336. [Classes 52(ii), 52(iii) and 52(iv)] The seat 2 of an office chair has flxed to its under side angle bars 3 adapted to fit against the vertical sides 1a of a hollow tapered casing 1 of inverted pyramidal form and be secured thereto by bolts 5 or detents. Nuts 4 may be welded to the inner sides of the angle bars in register with holes in the angle bars through which the bolts pass. The seat may be raised at one side and reversed in the frame to give a change of posture. The bolts may pass through vertical slots in the frame for angular adjustment of the seat. In a modification lugs fixed on one side of the seat and spring-pressed detents on the other side engage holes in the frame. The hollow casing may be used as a receptacle.
