Abstract
579,006. Adjustable table &c. legs. MURPHY, W. H. Feb. 4, 1944, No. 2056. Convention date, Jan. 18, 1943. [Class 52 (iii)] An adjustable support, e.g., for a drafting table 12 comprises one or a pair of uprights 14 with bifurcated lower end to provide adjustment when located in the leg assembly of Fig. 6, the uprights being bevelled at 40 to give a wedging action when tightened by screws up against bevelled parts 33 of the leg assembly. The legs 42, are secured at their tops to a plate 24 and are held in spread position by a cross bar 46. The cross bars 18 of the base are received between the spaces at the top of the legs. To permit adjustment the nuts 65 of securing bolts 63 are slackened so that the uprights 14 can be raised or lowered. The top 12 is mounted on a pivotable bracket on the uprights and its level or slope is adjusted by telescoping supports 52.
