Abstract

609,079. Filters. ALLAM, P. S. (Fram Corporation.). March 5, 1946, No. 6845. [Class 46] [Also in Group XVII] A filter cartridge package comprises a tubular sleeve 20 containing a compressible cartridge 17, the sleeve being provided with a thickened band of material 29 on its outer surface near one end for engaging the end of a filter casing 11 when the cartridge is being pressed from the sleeve into the casing. Between the casing and the band 29 is a washer 26 which makes a tight joint between the casing and the casing cover 14. The package, before the cartridge has been put into use, is closed at each end by a cover, one cover surrounding the band 29. The cartridge may be provided with a central tube 18 which fits over a tube 19 in the casing 11. The tube 19 is screwthreaded to engage a screw 33 whereby the cover 14 is held in place.
