Abstract
609,038. Valve generating circuits. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 6, 1945, No. 33033. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1944. [Class 40 (vi)] In a high-frequency generator, a grid-leak resistance having a high positive temperature coefficient of resistance is provided and arranged to have such current carrying characteristics as to be heated by the increased negative bias voltage produced when the load on the generator is reduced. In this way the increase in the resistance increases the grid bias and so limits the grid current. The Figure shows a generator 3, the tank circuit of which is tuned by the coil 11 and earthed through the choke 19 and includes the work coil 1 of an induction heater and may operate at. 500 kc. The grid-leak circuit is made up of the choke 18 and tungsten filament lamps.
