Abstract

608,426. Casings for dynamo-electric machines. SINGER MANUFACTURING CO. Feb. 22, 1946, No. 5657. Convention date, April 23, 1945. [Class 35] The stator core 1 is secured within two moulded end covers 2, 3, which together form a seating 33 upon which the core is pressed into its position of correct alignment by the action of a wedge 37 when the two halves are drawn axially together by tightening the fixing screws 4. A clearance is left at the top and sides of the core and the holes 41 are large enough to permit its adjustment with respect to the fixing screws. Spherical bearing bushes 10, 11 are secured in the moulding by springs 18, 19 and brush covers 25 are held in place by screws 26 threaded into the same bushes 5 as the main fixing screws.
