Abstract
608,329. Lay figures; knobs. HARRIS & SHELDON, Ltd., and BEACH, A. H. Feb. 20, 1946, No. 5282. [Classes 52(i) and 52(v)] A bust or part thereof is provided with a handle 1 slidably mounted in a tubular socket 2 secured in the neck or upper part of the device. The handle 1 is spring loaded and is locked in an outof-use position and against the action of the spring by a bayonet socket joint provided by a projection 5 on the handle and a slot 11 with two aligned lateral notches 12, 13 in the lower end in the socket 2. The projection 5 may be turned to engage either notch. An upwardly projecting part 14 serves as a guide and a limit stop. in the locking process. In a modification only one notch may be provided; alternatively the socket may be provided with two slots each with one or two notches and adapted to engage two projections on the handle.
