Abstract
607,307. Hot-water boilers. GENERAL INVENTIONS, Ltd., and FOWLER, C. R. Nov. 14, 1945, No. 30410. [Class 64(i)] A domestic water heater comprises an outer container, e.g. a copper cylinder 1, surrounding an annular water chamber which is bounded on the inside by an inner pipe-like duct 4, and a dependent flange 20 constructed so that a domestic oil stove can be freely suspended from it below the duct. The inturned upper ends of the legs of a pressure oil stove may engage either in slots 21 in the flange 20 as shown or in clips. The duct 4 is made of refractory material, e.g. asbestos cement. A metal sleeve 22 spaced from the duct 4 by lugs 22<1> protects the lower part of the duct from the burner flame, and a vertical plate may be suspended from the bottom of the heater to protect the wall on which the heater is supported. The annular bottom 6 of the water chamber is sealed against the duct 4 by a rubber ring 7 compressed between two rings 8, 9 the lower of which supports the duct. The water supply passses upwardly through a pipe 32, which has a water-restricting screw 30 at its lower end, to holes 33 surrounded by the sleeve of a cap 34, and falls through a pipe 36 into the water chamber. An outlet pipe 38 is connected to the lower end of the pipe 37.
