Abstract

605,595. Exhaust silencers. BOERS, M. J. VAN TONGEREN-. Dec. 31, 1945, No. 35228. Convention date, May 8, 1940. [Class 7 (ii)] A silencer in a circular or elliptical crosssection conduit, comprises a number of sound absorbing plates p arranged parallel in three groups as shown. The plates p, preferably of glass wool, are supported on short angles 13a, welded on to angle bars and are covered by perforated metal sheets framed by iron pieces. A complete silencer may comprise several of the above units spaced apart axially. If the free spaces around the sides of the silencing unit are not filled in, short-sound absorbing plates may be disposed therein.
