610,841. Silencing gaseous currents. NEWTON, E. P. (Likuvag Akt.-Ges.) Jan. 21, 1946, No. 2003. [Class 7 (ii)] Means for damping or silencing the gaseous currents flowing through a pipe elbow comprises perforated metal walls T, which enclose sound deadening material K, e.g. glass or slag wool, and a sound reflector S, which is preferably supported by sound insulating members I, and arranged so that all sound waves are reflected on to the walls T. The cross section is rectangular and formulµ are given for calculating the dimensions.
