Abstract
After water, e.g. the water of wells, peaty river water, the water of swimming pools, has been sterilized by treatment with gaseous chlorine, chlorine water, chlorinating agents such as sodium hypochlorite, organic chloramines, chlorazimide or the compound resulting from the electrolysis of brine, or with ozone, so as to leave no residual sterilizing agent in the water, the water is treated with hydrogen peroxide or an agent yielding hydrogen peroxide, e.g. the compound of urea and hydrogen peroxide, the residual hydrogen peroxide content of the water being preferably equivalent to at least 0.1 parts per million of available oxygen.ALSO:After water, e.g. the water of wells, peaty river water, the water of swimming pools, has been sterilized by treatment with gaseous chlorine, chlorine water, chlorinating agents such as sodium hypochlorite, organic chloramines, chlorazimide or the compound resulting from the electrolysis of brine, or with ozone, so as to leave no residual sterilizing agent in the water, the water is treated with hydrogen peroxide or an agent yielding hydrogen peroxide, e.g. the compound of urea and hydrogen peroxide, the residual hydrogen peroxide content of the water being preferably equivalent to at least 0.1 parts per million of available oxygen.
