Abstract
604,799. Valve amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and ROGERS, D. C. Dec. 4, 1945, No. 32732. [Class 40 (vi)] An amplifier for providing magnetic deflection currents for a cathode ray oscillograph, comprises a valve and an output transformer with two primary windings, one of which is connected as the anode load of the valve and the other as the cathode load. In the Figure, a waveform which may be of sawtooth nature is applied to amplifying valve 3. The two primary coils 7 and 8 of transformer 6 are con nected in the anode and cathode circuits respectively. The grid bias of valve 3 is adjusted by means of source 5, in conjunction with the resistance in the cathode lad. The output from transformer 6 is applied to the deflecting coils of cathode ray tube 13. The arrangement results in reduced distortion of the sawtooth waveform, and requires a relatively lower input to valve 3.
